Bundle

Find and Apply to Grants

If you are a founder, this bundle finds grants, prizes, fellowships, accelerators and startup credits that fit your project, stage and location. The sites on this page are examples, not a fixed list. Each opportunity is checked on the funder's official page and ranked into a dated plan with draft answers. Drafts are saved in your portals, and only the applications you approve are submitted.

How adding a routine works →

Abstract illustration of scattered paper forms sorting into a short ranked stack beside a calendar grid, in calm muted colors.

What you get

  • Application plan

A dated plan: a summary of what was found, this week's quick wins, a calendar of every shortlisted application, prerequisites only you can do with lead times, a document checklist, a reusable answer library and a section per application.

  • Ranked opportunities

Every scored opportunity grouped by tier, with funder, amount, deadline, scores and reasons, plus a list of calls to revisit next cycle and a list of excluded ones with the reason.

  • Application files

One file per shortlisted opportunity with every form field and its limit, required documents, attestations, prerequisites, deadline with time zone, fees, the funder's rule on AI writing, draft answers and the gaps only you can fill.

  • Your actions list

The steps the routine never takes for you: government registrations, account creation, fees, signatures, legal terms and missing documents.

  • Saved drafts with screenshots

For each application, whether a draft was saved in the portal, every field and the value entered or why it is empty, documents uploaded, attestations and fees shown, and a screenshot of the saved draft.

  • Review before you submit

What each ready application will submit: field values, documents, every attestation with its exact wording and any AI disclosure, plus gaps, blocked items and the question of which ids to submit.

  • Submission report

Each application you approved with its confirmation reference and time, those not submitted and why, those you declined, and the actions still open for you.

The routines inside

Each routine is reviewed individually. This bundle installs the pinned revisions shown below; routine pages show their latest approved content.

Who it's for

Founders & entrepreneurs
You get a ranked, checked list of grants, credits and programs your company fits, with any equity terms flagged, plus drafted applications that are submitted only after you approve them.

Use it when

  • You are an early-stage founder and want every grant and credit program you qualify for in your country and abroad, ranked by fit and deadline.
  • You have a shortlist of calls and want application files with every form field, limit, document and deadline mapped before you write.
  • You want saved drafts in each funding portal and a clear review of what will be submitted, so your part is reading the review and approving.
  • You rerun it each quarter to catch new calls without re-applying to anything you already submitted.

How it works

  1. Reads your project brief, preferences, documents and public website, and builds a profile of what makes you eligible.
  2. Picks the funding sources that fit your stage and location, then searches eight lanes at once: public funding at every level, private grants, accelerators, credits and your strongest angles.
  3. Confirms each opportunity on the funder's official page, merges duplicates and scores it on fit, value, time to money, timing, effort, odds and strings attached.
  4. Writes an application file for each shortlisted opportunity and a dated application plan for you.
  5. Fills and saves drafts in each portal using your own signed-in session, then shows you exactly what each application will submit.
  6. Submits only the ids you approve, records the confirmation, and remembers every result so reruns never apply twice.

Prepared during setup

When you add this routine, Toone's setup assistant prepares these with you. You only answer what it can't find.

  • Project brief

Your project's facts in a Markdown form: what it is, website, stage, revenue, founders' countries, legal form and place of incorporation, registrations, funding so far, tech stack and angles. Leave unknown lines empty. Both routines use it; Apply to Grants also uses it to fill simple form fields.

Example: - Name: Acme Robotics - Stage: launched, no revenue yet - Country and state or city of incorporation: Delaware, US

  • Funding source library (prefilled)

Ships prefilled with 188 funding sources checked on 2026-10-12, a discovery playbook and trust rules. Use it as is, or add, update and remove records for your own country and sector. Every run re-checks each source on the funder's official page.

Example: Use as shipped, or add a record for your regional agency with its official link, region and funding type.

  • Funding preferences

How many opportunities get full application files, the deadline horizon, which kinds of funding to include, fee and equity limits, languages and whether answers are drafted for you. Ships with defaults.

Example: Include calls with deadlines in the next 180 days, plus rolling programs.

  • Scoring rubric

The scoring axes, weights, hard gates and tier rules used to rank opportunities. Ships filled; change the weights if your priorities differ.

    Example: fit 25, value 20, time to money 15, effort 15, timing 10, odds 10, strings 5

  • Supporting documents (optional)

Pitch deck, one-pager, financials, cap table and CVs. Used to draft answers, and uploaded to a saved draft when a form asks for them, before you approve submission.

    Example: pitch-deck.pdf, one-pager.pdf

  • Applications to work on (optional)

A list of opportunity ids from your plan to limit an apply run to. Leave empty to work on every ready application.

    Example: ["nsf-sbir-phase-1"]

  • Your submit decision

After the review, the exact opportunity ids to submit now, or none. You can also list ids to mark as declined.

    Example: ["nsf-sbir-phase-1"]

  • Your signed-in portal sessions

For portals that need a login, you approve importing that site's sign-in from your browser on a card, or sign in once in Toone's in-app browser. Without it, the application is listed as needing login.

You prepare
About 30–60 minutes to fill the project brief once, review the funding preferences, add any documents, and sign in to the portals you want filled.
Run time (estimate)
About 3–6 hours: finding takes 2–3 hours, applying 1–3 hours

Stays in your control

  • Nothing is submitted unless you approve that application's id in the run; approving also approves the attestations listed for it in the review.
  • It never pays a fee or creates accounts or government registrations, and it signs nothing beyond the attestations you approve; the rest goes on your actions list.
  • Finding funding is read-only: no logins, form submissions or messages to funders.
  • It uses a portal sign-in only after you approve it for that site, and never ticks legal terms you have not approved.
  • Where a funder forbids AI-written applications, you get an outline and notes instead of drafted answers.
  • Before submitting, it checks the draft still matches the review and stops if anything changed or a payment step appears.

FAQ

Will it submit applications without asking me?

No. It saves drafts and writes a review of what each application will submit, including every attestation. It submits only the applications you approve in that run, and it never pays fees or creates accounts. Approving an application also approves its listed attestations, which some portals treat as your signature.

Does it only check the sites named on this page?

No. Find Funding picks the funding sources that fit your project, stage and location. The named sites are examples. A library of 188 checked sources is a starting point, and each run also searches portals and databases for your countries and angles. It works outside the US too, and you can add your own sources.

What if a portal needs a login?

You approve importing that site's sign-in from your browser on a card, or sign in once in Toone's in-app browser. If you don't, the application is listed as needing login with the next step.

What about funders that ban AI-written applications?

The routine checks each funder's rule. Where AI writing is forbidden, it gives you an outline and notes to write from instead of answers. Where disclosure is required, it adds the disclosure text.

Can I run it again later?

Yes. Results are remembered, so reruns skip applications already submitted, awarded, rejected or declined and never apply twice.
